Professor Frederick Heidel asked us to go outdoors and do a series of small paintings in preparation for a studio painting. I took my paints on a fishing date with my husband to be. The water logs and reflections captured my fancy in 1964. Now for the first time after so many years I can pick out the wispy forms shaped in serpentine movement. The picture of me with the orchid leis was taken after a summer session at the University of Hawaii where I studied watercolor from Ben Norris.
